We investigate the effect of COVID certificates on vaccination uptake based on data from Denmark, Israel, Italy, France, Germany, and Switzerland as well as 19 control countries. We find that mandatory certification increases vaccine uptake, especially in countries with lower levels of vaccinations before the intervention.
